Pitti Uomo

Sorry I havent been posting ! I have been on the move ever since I have stepped into Florence.

I recently just had the best fashion experience of a lifetime. My mentor at Balenciaga suggested I attend Pitti Uomo during my stay in Florence. Pitti Uomo is one of the biggest mensware fashion events in the world. Men dress head to toe in patterned suits, sleek leather shoes or loafers and always know how to accesorize. Pitti Uomo introduces new collections to Buyers.

After I had researched a great deal about Pitti Uomo, and was beyond excited, I noticed in the fine print I had to be associated with a fashion company to have access to the exhibition. LUCKILY , my fashion professor’s family owns a leather goods empire in Florence, Milan and Rome. So I went as a representative for her company .

I walked all the way from my apartment near the Ponte Vecchio to La Frotezza de Basso and was granted access to Pitti Uomo. I was absolutely intrigued with the italian fashion and for once was not treated as an outsider by the Italians. My favorite part of Pitti Uomo was actually being apart of an art project for TeeTrend which consisted of being blown with a lawnmower and having your picture taken and printed. This art project was meant to commercialize the brand , especially on social medias such as Instagram.

This was one of my many favorite experiences that I want to share, so keep looking for new posts !

Palazzi Classes in Firenze

Sorry I havent updated you guys, but I had to travel over 26 hours and then get over all of the jetlag, find my classes, and also find how to get to Balenciaga my first day.

I am taking Beginning Italian and Visual Merchandising through Palazzi. I absolutely love both classes! For my visual merchandising class we took a tour of a department store called “Luisa”, I would say the equivalent would definetly have to be Barneys or Neiman Marcus. The store was absolutely amazing. The clothes are displayed in numerous ways ranging from mannequins to T-stands. My favorite room of the display definetly had to be the shoes. The shoe room had famous italian designers ( such as Gucci, Ferragamo etc) and other amazing brands. The room each displayed the shoes with abstract mannequin hands in the center of the room, with others hanging from the walls . For me, a shoe addict, I was on the verge of tears from the creativity put into the displays.

In Beginning Italian we have a quiet but adorable instructor, he contantly makes jokes and seems very upbeat and relaxed. Our second class he took us to the central market of Florence to learn different types of food and costs. The market was HUMONGOUS. A girl from  University of Miami and I both tried pastries with apricot filling inside. It was one of the best desserts I have had in a while.

For all of you fashion addicts , I watched an amazing documentary Gucci : The Director Frida Giannini and fell in love . It follows the life of Frida Giannini, the current Creative Director of Gucci, to show what her position entails and how she has influenced the designs, fashion shows, and the company itself . I absolutely love the runway shows in the documentary that incorporate an aspect of dark romanticism . Part of the documentary is filmed right outside of Florence at the Gucci Headquarters……. Right across from where I will be interning . Hopefully luck will be on my side and I won’t sound like a complete moron if I ever ran into her .

Countdown : 42 hours until my flight!

I think I have packed my entire closet for my Florence trip and for my experience in the fashion industry. I went a little overboard and found 3 incredible dresses from H&M and a pair of asymmetrical point toe pumps from BCBG that I can use as options when I start going to Balenciaga. I’ll arrive in Florence on Sunday and will start with Balenciaga on Wednesday ! I can’t sleep because of how excited I am.

Spring Makeup Palette
This would be my main choices for my spring and summer makeup palette. These choices are great for those that have sensitive skin. I have Eczema and my skin has never reacted to any of these products.
Valentina by Valentino– I bought this perfume while I was in Strasburg, France two summers ago. It has a slight floral and vanilla smell. It is a very light and fresh perfume that can be used for any occasion.
Naked by Urban Decay: This is a worldwide popular product that has a fantastic palette for all skin complexions.
NARS Blush: I love this blush because it is a very natural hue of rose. I am very conservative with my makeup but absolutely love this product.
CHANEL VITALUMIÈRE AQUA Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 : For those who are very skin conscious like a light foundation, this product is absolutely perfect.
Guerlain Kiss Kiss Liplift: This is considered one of the most popular products for Guerlain , which gives your lips hydration, but acts as a perfect base to apply lipstain or lipstick if needed.
Trish McEvoy Beauty Booster Lipgloss SPF 15: This lipgloss complements the rest of your palette.
Zoya Nail Polish in Rue: I have always been looking for a fashionable pink nail polish. This nail polish is my absolute favorite, and can be seen a rose color.
